Staff Changes Ahead of Rumble At The Rock
HOWrestling.com has received word ahead of Rumble at the Rock #9 this Saturday that special staff will be used for the show.
Lee Best and Scott Woodson, both 49% owners of High Octane Wrestling, have agreed that the booth for commentary at Rumble at the Rock will be Hall of Fame announce team Joe Hoffman and “Big Buff” Benny Newell. The senior announce team, who have never missed a single HOW pay-per-view in the entire twenty year history of High Octane Wrestling, have not been seen on HOW television since mid-September, when they were replaced by then-majority owner Michael Lee Best.
“This was a no brainer.” Lee Best told the news team. “These guys are the voices of HOW, and there’s nobody else who was ever gonna call that main event besides Benny and Joe.”
In addition to returning commentators, referees Joel Hortega and Matt Boettcher will be officiating the event, alongside current HOW official Rick “Even” Stevens. While no official word has been given about the contract status of any of these returning former staffers, it is rumored that they may be returning to the company full time. Michael Best’s former 1% majority allowed him to downsize the HOW staff in the name of increased profits for High Octane Wrestling, but with the changing of the guard, it’s very likely we’ll see HOW’s iconic staff members return.
No word has been given as to whether or not the current HOW staff will remain employed, but sources say that with the exception of Cassie Walsh, Brian Bare, and Rick Stevens, none of the current staff will be present at Rumble at the Rock.
