I really couldn’t fathom what I was doing. I really couldn’t. I was feeling a lot of different emotions at this time. Fear, despair, grief and hatred dominated most of them. Happiness wasn’t a feeling I had felt in a long time. In fact, it was the other emotions I was feeling that was blocking out all the happiness I had left. Perhaps this was the reason I truly lost what happiness felt like. The people I loved, they would feel the majority of the pain…along with them fading into the sea of despair..a bottomless pit of the darkest dwellings. This is what I should have seen at that time and I didn’t. Love blinded me…but it was a different kind of love. A long and lost love of the past…so far deep into the past that felt like it was engraved on a stone that you would see in a museum. You know, the ancient and historical bullshit. There was a grudge there, though. Another emotion. Grudges are a funny thing, how they work. Who would have known that my deepest love that I ever felt at my core, even though it had a short shelf life…it would have the biggest impact on how my life would change forever and shape me into the man I never would have imagined I would become…
Two Months Ago
Crown Point, Indiana
Crown Point. This town was historical for Hollywood in a lot of different ways. Los Angeles, California, even Chicago, Illinois Hollywood called home but Crown Point held a slight significance for Hollywood as well. In fact, it was here where Hollywood’s career really took off. He doesn’t like to talk about it, but wrestling played a prominence with Hollywood in this town. Three letters Hollywood didn’t like to think about. Whether he felt guilty about admitting it, whether he felt embarrassed about it, there was no denying there was success and where there was success, there was tout. It was ingrained within Hollywood’s DNA every chance he had in boasting about it. But at the end of the day, he still felt ashamed of it because it wasn’t the height of his success where he found it in HOW. It was the other three lettered company where he held so much disdain.
It was downtown Indiana as Hollywood literally stared a hole into the arena where it all truly started for him. He shakes his head but can’t help but to remember the fondness of his former friend turned enemy turned friend again. The late John Pariah. And there was a lot of legitimate hatred for the man he would despise for so many years. Pariah nearly destroyed Hollywood’s entire legacy in PWX, and even as a legitimate renowned wrestler all because his ego couldn’t see that when Hollywood ran PWX, he made it better. He was the one who was able to align the company with the GOD of HOW, Lee motherfucking Best. A man who didn’t even bat an eye at the fisher price fed when Pariah was running it. But when Hollywood ran it, he struck a deal with the GOD of HOW and got the bat of that one eye that John Pariah could never get. Hollywood was a businessman. He was always a businessman and knew what was best for business. Perhaps it was this move that Pariah hated the most because in turn, Lee got an asset and ultimately turned Hollywood towards the career he would always admire right in where Hollywood truly calls his home. High Octane Wrestling. Hollywood went on to make his name an even bigger household name with HOW and no one really truly knows if this was always the plan with the GOD of HOW. But there was no denying that Lee plucked away Pariah’s greatest strength and asset and made him one of his own. So, in turn, Pariah’s rage was justified..at least that’s what some say when honoring the legacy of the late John Pariah. People called Hollywood a traitor…especially when Hollywood claimed credit for being the nail in the coffin that truly killed PWX. Both men have touted it at one point in their careers. It’s on record so nobody can claim it didn’t actually happen. Still…Hollywood’s account, how he feels about it all, can’t and won’t be denied as Hollywood looks onto the nearly abandoned arena from a lowly street corner.
Brian Hollywood: “I never thought I would actually step foot into this rotten town again.”
We finally get a chuckle in this scene…but it isn’t from Hollywood. No..instead it’s from a man who by all accounts at this point, can be called a companion. An ally, for better or for worse even still, is.
The Chair: “Life is truly full of the best of ironies, don’t you agree, Mr. Hollywood?”
Brian Hollywood: “Why are we even here of all places?”
The Chair: “Come now, Mr. Hollywood, have a pragmatic viewpoint, won’t you? You don’t believe in coincidences and neither do I. You and I share more in common that you might like to admit or even think. But even I shared a deep love for wrestling.”
It was this comment that really got Hollywood’s ear in curiosity. He always thought The Chair couldn’t possibly understand the meaning of professional wrestling or why or how anyone could have loved it. But it wasn’t just a statement Hollywood thought was curious..but rather the desire to figure out why The Chair was sharing the statement in the first place. The thing that Hollywood always observed in his years long feud with this mysterious man was that nothing that dropped from The Chair’s mouth was ever an accident. It had meaning and the key to figuring out how The Chair thinks or even the key to figuring out anything about the man was his dialogue and who he shared that dialogue with. It had meaning…Hollywood just couldn’t figure out what that was at the present time.
Brian Hollywood: “Oh please, what the fuck do you actually know about wrestling? You may have known I’ve always been a professional wrestler, but you couldn’t possibly even fathom what that means to someone who is.”
Silence. That’s all that followed Hollywood’s comment and it was more telling to him than the average person would spend the time even thinking about. He couldn’t figure out why right now, but silence hardly followed any dialogue with The Chair. He always had a thing for the theatrics, especially with the way he was with his words. But none followed this particular conversation…at least at first. It wasn’t much to go on for Hollywood, but it was a start. Before long, though, The Chair is able to pick back up his chatty self and he is easily able to successfully deflect the conversation.
The Chair: “You can find out more from a man in silence that anything else, Mr. Hollywood, and you have come to know mine very well. Heh. But I digress…there is a reason we are here in this town. We both are in this quest together looking to find a conclusion to the business at hand. Well…there is a man here who was with the man who killed Serenity. His name is Atticus Henning.”
Deflection was definitely successful as Hollywood regains his posture and can feel the hatred flowing through his veins as he’s quick to fire back.
Brian Hollywood: “Where is this man?! I want to question him myself! My sister obviously deserved to have a life! She should be alive right now and I want to look the man in his eyes and ask him what his involvement with her death, was. Please tell me we know where this man is at!”
A smile shoots across the face of The Chair. There was a destination, of course, as Hollywood and The Chair were walking towards a particular part of town as they come across an alleyway in the downtown belly of Crown Point. The Chair wasn’t exactly displaying his happiness of his intentions, but rather he knew something Hollywood didn’t.
The Chair: “Where do you think we’ve been heading? My men have already taken Mr. Atticus Henning captive! Now we’re about to pop in and get us a lead that will take us to the man who was directly responsible for taking dear Serenity’s life.”
Hatred was already flowing through Hollywood’s blood and even though this man may not have taken Serenity’s life, he was perhaps the one man who could point Hollywood in the exact direction of the man who actually did take Serenity’s life. Anticipation wasn’t a feeling that was flowing through Hollywood. All Hollywood was slowly seeing was red and he wanted blood. However, Hollywood had no idea that what would transpire tonight would set him on the path that he would ultimately be set on.
Brian Hollywood: “I want to question him myself.”
The Chair: “I thought you’d never ask of anything else!”
Before long, Hollywood and The Chair make their way around another corner and ultimately, the set destination of where Atticus was being held. An abandoned old business that had long closed its doors. You could tell The Chair had already controlled the area as some of his men were posted outside. The two walk straight by the men posted outside as they enter the building. There he sat…in the middle of the business with a slight light over him. Atticus was tied up in a chair and he already looked like he was tortured as his face was covered in blood. Normally Hollywood would look on this situation with great concern for the well-being of this man’s life..but there was none detected in his eyes. His eyes were dark and cold and quite frankly he didn’t give a fuck about this mans current situation. Atticus was in distress as he yelled out in despair.
Atticus Henning: “Please! PLEASE!! LET ME GO!! I’ve done nothing wrong! What do you people want?!”
Hollywood ignores his cries as The Chair turns towards Hollywood and looks on with him the same feeling of hate as he nods his head towards Hollywood.
The Chair: “He’s all yours, Brian.”
The Chair takes a step to the side as Hollywood nods and walks straight up to Atticus and wastes no time in sending a couple closed fist shots straight to the distressed Atticus’ face.
Brian Hollywood: “Do you know why you’re here, asshole?!”
Atticus Henning: “NO!! Please, have mercy! What do you want from me?!”
Brian Hollywood: “There will be no mercy here for you tonight, Atticus….unless you tell me what I want to know! Tell me…and I will spare you and let you leave here tonight!”
It was almost like Hollywood was a natural at this and it didn’t bother him. He could care less of Atticus’s immediate welfare as The Chair stands in the shadows watching without worry of how Hollywood may handle the situation.
Atticus Henning: “Please….what is this about?! I’ve done nothing wrong to any of you!”
Brian Hollywood: “Oh really?! Perhaps you don’t remember the careless act of cruelty you and your boss did to my sister Serenity…my seven year old sister that got coldlessly gunned down in Los Angeles thirty years ago!”
Hollywood didn’t even have to go into detail for Atticus to know what he was talking about. Atticus was a bad man who did bad things with the crew he used to run with and he did remember of a little girl who was carelessly and premeditatedly gunned down.
Atticus Henning: “Oh my god….that little girl? She was you’re sister?! I had no part in her shooting! That was my boss and I wasn’t the one who murdered her!”
Hollywood punches Atticus again.
Brian Hollywood: “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK!! You were FUCKING THERE!! You minus well have pulled the god damn trigger yourself!! Now unless you give me the name of the man who pulled the trigger, I’m going to let these men take your life here tonight and I won’t give a fuck less thought to it!”
Atticus Henning: “I didn’t want to be there that night! I never wanted that little girl to die!
Hollywood punches Atticus again.
Brian Hollywood: “THAN GIVE ME A FUCKING NAME!!”
Atticus is quick to give Hollywood want he wanted as he doesn’t run with his old boss or the old gang anymore.
Atticus Henning: “His name is Roberto Dominic Ramirez! Now please….let me go! I’ve made some bad decisions in my life..but that was a long time ago! I haven’t been apart of his gang in years!”
Hollywood is relieved he was able to get the name of his sisters murderer as he turns towards The Chair who promptly turns to Hollywood as he steps from the shadows.
The Chair: “Well there you have it Mr. Hollywood. Now….kill him!”
Hollywood is greatly hesitant to follow through as the man gave him exactly what he wanted.
Brian Hollywood: “There’s no need for that! The man has been out of the gang for years and he wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger”
The Chair: “Nothing is ever black and white, Mr. Hollywood. He’s still an accessory and besides…
The Chair slightly pauses as you could tell the deceitful wheels in his head were churning before he doesn’t hesitate in dropping some rather questionable bombshell remarks.
The Chair: “He was the one who spotted the child and handed Mr. Ramirez the gun in the first place…”
Upon hearing this, Hollywood’s eyes widen as blood filled rage all of a sudden takes control of Hollywood and normally while Hollywood would be thinking and evaluating what was said, doesn’t hesitate as he all of a sudden lunges towards Atticus and begins choking him out as Atticus cries out in terror. Hollywood releases punch after punch after punch before Atticus becomes limp and can’t defend himself. Hollywood starts choking out Atticus as he watches the life leave Atticus’s eyes. Before long…Atticus is unresponsive as The Chair watches with delight at what Hollywood just did.
There is nothing but silence as Hollywood doesn’t even release the choke hold as he breaths heavily before looking upon the act he just committed. There is no life, no emotion in Hollywood’s eyes as he passed across a barrier of no return and the worst part about it all was that Hollywood felt NOTHING as he stares at a now completely lifeless Atticus not taking into account or questioning The Chair’s unknown accusation. Hollywood did this…all within the confines of Serenity’s name as there is now blood on Hollywood’s hands as the scene slowly fades to black…
The Ultimate Sacrifice
I did not just return to High Octane Wrestling just to say I needed to return to wrestling.
No. It was more.
I feel NOTHING! I’ve felt nothing for a long time and I can’t escape this cloud that has been hanging over me for so long.
I needed clarity and for the first time in my life I feel like I’ve gotten just that.
You all can call it another glorified return if you want to….but for me, it’s much more than that.
It’s fucking PERSONAL!
I’ve been away from High Octane Wrestling for a couple months now…not having any sort of fucking direction…until now. I didn’t come back to just find a “fight.” No….it’s much more to me than that.
I came back to High Octane Wrestling to finish out my career. I don’t have a timeline on this current run. You want to know why? It’s because I genuinely feel like I can take everything I had and take it for myself once again. I have to give credit to the GOD of HOW himself, he certainly wasted no time in giving me something to do. But it’s not different, is it?
Truth is, Lee, you are as predictable as ever and you don’t even learn from your mistakes. I’m shocked about that. Maybe five years ago you wouldn’t have made that call. You look at everything around you and you evaluate the situation much like myself. You know I’m a dangerous man and you know I keep my word. My word used to mean nothing! Absolutely fucking nothing!
I was a talker and a big talker at that. But one thing you have always known me as is a man of conviction. That is why you signed me all those years ago, wasn’t it? Yet, you continue to test me like a man who’s never been tested before. So you put me with Xander Azula to face two members of your board. Two Champions. Stronk and Christopher America. The world champion himself. I’m flattered. I really am. I guess you do know me to some degrees.
However, you know I’ve faced off against your entire alliance before and have put each and every one of them down. You had to because you needed change. Than I became apart of your alliance and ran it by my fucking self. And boy did I do wonders for High Octane Wrestling. Maybe you are seeing if you can get that Hollywood back. Because you know when I’m focused, I get results and I took High Octane Wrestling to levels that were desperatedly needed at that time.
However, this time….things are going to be different. I don’t need alliances and I don’t need friends. I never fucking have. None the less, I will swallow my pride and team with Xander this week on Chaos to get the job done.
I’m going to make it on that Dead or Alive card one way or another. With or without Xander’s help, I’m a man who is a changed man and I will not give a flying fuck in what I have to do in order to get things done the way I want to get them done! So give me your two champions. I welcome the challenge but it will not end there and one way or another, the Hollywood World Order will begin anew and there won’t be a damn thing anyone will be able to do in stopping me achieving what I want this time!
