The scene opens up to a luxurious hotel room. The walls are covered with oil paintings in elaborate golden frames, the bed is a four-poster bed with red velvet curtains, and there is a man sitting in a golden throne facing away from the camera. Servants approach the man, offering him food and drink, which he waves away with the flick of a wrist. The camera approaches the man and walks around, to reveal it as Max Stryker. He sits there with an arrogant smile across his face as he takes a moment before he speaks. He’s wearing a luxury robe draped in blue and gold material, and on his head rests a simple yet stylish crown.
Stryker: Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Everyone around the World. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Max Stryker, and I am without a doubt, the greatest wrestler in the world.
Stryker takes a moment to close his eyes and bask in his own glory as he raises his arms and gestures to his luxurious surroundings.
Stryker: The time has come ladies and gentlemen, for the greatest wrestler in the world to step into a HOW ring, and who is my first opponent… none other than former World Champion Brian Hollywood. Only, he isn’t looking so “Hollywood” anymore, is he? You saw the type of establishment he was staying in for Lethal Lottery. It seems as though poor Brian has fallen on hard times, trying to desperately to claw back at his former glory but just struggling to clutch that brass ring. He’s gone from being a main eventer with a World Championship to losing to rookies on their debut. It’s quite upsetting to see, genuinely it is.
However, all is not lost, Brian. You see, I am about to give you the biggest gift of your career. I am about to make you relevant again. In years to come, people will sit around and talk about the HOW debut of Max Stryker, and discuss who his opponent was on that fateful night. Your name will be mentioned, as the loser unfortunately, but still mentioned all the same, which is more than is currently happening. I’m going to show you what real wrestling is, I’m going to educate the fans on what sports entertainment really is, and I’m going to use you as an example to show the rest of the HOW locker room what is waiting for them now I’ve arrived. This is the day HOW changes forever, and you get to be a part of that. There’s no need to thank me, the pleasure is all mine, I just urge you to make sure you use this gift of relevance and make it worthwhile. It would be a shame to see you fall from grace… again.
Stryker gets up from his chair and walks around the room, brushing his hand along golden tables filled with expensive bottles of champagne and twiddling a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The servants appear again, running along behind him and rearranging all the things he moves. He chuckles and looks back towards the camera.
Stryker: You see, people have been questioning my return ever since my video aired on Refuelled a few weeks ago. “Why haven’t we seen you yet?” they say. “Are you scared?” they ask. I am not the one who is scared. HOW are scared. They know that I am the biggest threat that has ever come to their organisation, a true veteran who actually knows how to entertain a crowd and put on a great wrestling match, and they’re scared for the sad excuse they call talent. That’s why I wasn’t booked on Refuelled before. That’s why my lottery numbers were not drawn. They claim it is random, but I know the truth. HOW are terrified about what’s going to happen when I arrive. Well, now it’s out of their hands.
No longer will my debut be delayed by “chance”. I’m turning up, kicking down the doors, and getting in that ring no matter what. So I hope you are well rested from your stay in that god awful motel you found yourself in, Hollywood, because I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time, and I’m not going to allow some hasbeen to stand in my way.
HOW, I hope you’re ready, because Everything… is about… to change.
