The match……………….
The Chicago crowd inside the Best Arena was rabid as the match between Scott Stevens and Zach Kostoff wore on. Both men delved deep into their arsenals to try and put the other away, but nothing was working until Stevens attempted his signature “Game Changer,” but the young Kostoff had it scouted and countered with a snapmare driver that shook the ring. The crowd gasped as the referee counted, but the Texan kicked out at two and a half, his eyes filled with a mixture of disbelief and determination.
The Hall of Famer continued to work over the rookie until he was able to make a crucial counter. Sensing an opening, Kostoff ascended the turnbuckles, preparing for a high-risk maneuver. Just as he launched himself, Stevens caught him in mid-air, transitioning into a sit-out powerbomb that left the crowd on the edge of their seats.
One!
Two!
Thr….
NO!!!!!!!
Kostoff kicked out!
Stevens couldn’t believe it as he stared at the official with disbelief in his eyes as Kostoff’s eyes were ablaze with a fire that would not be extinguished. Both men were physically spent, their bodies battered but their wills unbroken. In a moment that seemed to freeze time, Kostoff dodged a Texas sized lariat from Stevens and executed a picture-perfect enzuiguri, leaving the Texan dazed. Seizing the moment, Kostoff hoisted Scott onto his shoulders and delivered a devastating Death Valley Driver, driving Stevens into the mat with a force that left no room for doubt.
One.
Two.
Three.
The referee’s hand hit the mat for the final time and Zach Kostoff had done the unthinkable. The crowd erupted in a deafening roar, fully aware that they had witnessed a monumental upset. With his win over Scott Stevens, he had earned the right to challenge John Sektor for the HOTv Championship in High Octane Wrestling. As his hand was raised in victory, the magnitude of the moment was overwhelming. This was more than just a win; it was a career-defining moment, a stepping stone back to the grand stage of HOW.
As Kostoff continues to celebrate his victory in the ring, Scott Stevens heads up the ramp holding the back of his head with his signature scowl plastered on his face.
The aftermath………………….
The sound of a door being ripped off of its hinges is heard as we see Scott Stevens taking out his frustrations on his locker room door. The Texan beats on the door with his fists before stopping to kick it in. After a few minutes, Stevens is able to rip the door off of its hinges and toss it down the hallway.
“Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?!?!?!?”
Stevens shouts to the heavens as he kicks a small trash can that was sitting by the door as he enters the locker room.
“I lost to him?!?!?!?!? I lost to baby Kostoff?!?!?!?!?”
Stevens says in utter disbelief as if it is a bad dream that has unfortunately become a terrifying reality.
“I…..I….I can’t believe….no, I WON”T BELIEVE IT!”
Stevens says to himself as he rips up one of the benches in the locker room.
“I am better than that punk.”
Scott yells as he kicks a hole in his locker cabinet.
“I’m a Hall of Famer for fucking sake! I am better than this! And I know I’m fucking better than some fucking rookie despite who his father was!”
Stevens points towards the ring as the venom continues to fly out of his mouth in his rage filled rant before moving towards the bathing area of the locker room. Stevens stops before taking a long, hard look into the mirror and seeing his reflection.
“Consider yourself fucking lucky Sektor that it’s Kostoff you’re facing instead of me.”
The Texan spews a warning from his lips before sending his reflection into a thousand pieces courtesy of a right hand.
“FUCK!”
Scott yells at the top of his lungs in frustration before grabbing his bags and exiting the locker room.
Location: Chicago, Illinois: Ten-X Academy
Date: August 31, 2023
The last time we saw Scott Stevens was inside of a wrestling ring he was looking up at the lights in defeat, and now we see him in the middle of a ring with a glazed look on his face as he takes a hard left jab.
“SCOTT!”
A voice is heard shouting as Stevens stumbles backwards a little before another jab collides with his face again.
“STEVENS!”
The voice shouts again before a third strike lands and this one seemingly awakens the Texan back to reality.
“What?!?!?!?!?”
Scott says confused look around as the young man who has been punching in the face delivers a Superman Punch which causes the Hall of Famer to stumble backwards and out of the ring.
“God dammit!”
The man doing the shouting is Darren Washington, one of Ten-X’s lead trainers, and he throws the towel he had hanging on his shoulder onto the ground as he climbs the steps to get into the ring as Stevens rolls back in.
“What the fuck was that?!?!?!?!?”
Darren shouts as Scott pulls himself to his feet.
“What?”
Stevens says as he shrugs as Darren shakes his head.
“I told Mike this was pointless, but he told me you were a top priority.”
Darren mocks aloud to himself.
“I agree with you Darren, I don’t see what’s so special with this beaten down has-been.”
The voice of wrestler in training, Joseph “JoJo” Jordan, is heard behind Darren causing the Texan to tilt to the side to better see the man.
“Are you eye balling me Stevens?!?!?!?!?”
JoJo tosses down his water bottle and makes a bee-line towards the Texan and Darren stops him.
“Simmer down there JoJo. You aren’t on this man’s level.”
Darren informs Jordan who simply laughs it off.
“I’m above this has-been’s level.”
Jordan continues to mock.
“He’s losing to rookies in XPRO. Some Hall of Fame…….”
Jordan’s rant is cut short by a Superman punch from Stevens. Scott picks up Jordan and delivers an overhead suplex into the nearest corner and begins to stomp the shit out of Jordan until there is blood on his face.
“Stop it Scott!”
Darren shouts, but Stevens doesn’t listen and Darren goes over and tries to pry Stevens off of Jordan, but the Texan shoves him off. Stevens delivers a final stomp before turning towards Darren.
“What the fuck do you think you are doing?”
Stevens asks as he looks at the man who tried to stop him.
“You actually think you can stop me?”
Stevens asks Darren as he points to himself.
“Darren, I’m going to beat some respect into this little piss ant before I leave and if you try and stop me I will fucking break your neck.”
Stevens warns in an eerie almost sadistic tone.
“Once I am done with this piece of shit, I will take my leave and you will go and inform the other piece of shit that is supposed to be training me instead of you that he’s nothing but broken promises. I have a match this week against Brian Hollywood and he can’t be bothered to show up so fuck him, fuck you, fuck Ten-X, and fuck this piece of shit.”
Stevens says as he drags Jordan out of the corner and places him between his legs and delivers a ring shaking piledriver. Stevens continues the assault as he mounts the young man and begins to deliver right hands to Jordan’s face. Scott delivers one final blow before dragging Jordan up to his feet and placing his head between his legs. Stevens reaches down and picks up JoJo and has him up for a powerbomb, and instead of bringing him back down to the canvas, the Texan sprints forward and tosses him over the top rope. A gasp fills Ten-X as everyone comes rushing over to check on JoJo who is unconscious on the outside of the ring. Stevens rolls out of the ring and heads towards the exit.

What the fuck has happened to Scott Stevens?
No, seriously.
What the fuck has happened to me because I’m trying to figure it out.
I am a former multiple champion and world champion in HOW, but more importantly, I am a fucking Hall of Famer and I have no business losing to a punk like Zach Kostoff.
That HOTv championship opportunity belongs to me, not you.
However, since Kostoff cheated his way to victory, I’m stuck facing Brian Hollywood, AGAIN.
Hollywood, I’m tired of facing you. I have become you’re newest Darin Zion where I’m facing or teaming up with you every other week and I’m sick of it!
I pick to XPRO to find what I have been missing and revitalize my wrestling career not be stuck in the same fucking hole that I have been the last few years facing your once again.
Brian, I’m tired of facing you and if I knew this ahead of time, I would’ve asked for the week off because in XPRO I would’ve faced someone different when we came back from our break. However, that isn’t the case and I’m making my way to the Nationwide Arena in Ohio to face off against you in a match that means nothing. I beat you, what does it get me besides a golf clap from Lee Best by beating the guy whose record is slightly better than me in the standings?
I should be facing John Sektor in the Main Event of Chaos for the HOTv championship, but instead I’m facing Brian Hollywood for the millionth time in a match that has no importance except to see who sucks less.
I’m extremely pissed off and I’m going to take every bit of anger that I possess to eviscerate you and get what should be mine and that is the Gold Standard in the middle of the ring and tapping his ass out.
John Sektor may have gotten off easy this week, but you are going to get beaten within an inch of your life Hollywood and there is no one to blame but Kostoff for what happens to you this Sunday. Whether people believe it or not, I will be a champion once more before the year’s end and you’re in my fucking way of making that happen.
See you Sunday.
