IMPORTANT: Update to RATR Main Event
In a move that may ruffle some High Octane feathers, the HOWrestling.com team has been made aware of major changes to the Rumble at the Rock main event.
A source has informed us that none other than Lee Best himself, who has been hammering away behind the scenes for the last several weeks, has locked in a final decision regarding the order of falls for the World and Icon Championships in the main event. That source? Mr. 2% himself, Michael Best.
“Look, the fact is,” Michael told us, on record. “The HOW World Title is supposed to be the big boy. That 97 Red strap used to be the baddest title on the planet. I’ve held it eight times, if anyone has managed to forget. Right now that title has been passed around like hot potato since we crowned our first champion. Zero successful defenses. Meanwhile, my best friend, Cecilworth Farthington, was the first crowned champion of this era and is still standing as the ICON Champion— the ICON Championship is the most valuable title in High Octane Wrestling right now. But that has to change.”
In the first public statement by new 49% owner Scott Woodson, he was sure to pay his respects to what Cecilworth Farthington has done for the HOW ICON Title, and honored the championship with rights to the final fall at Rumble at the Rock. But per the Best family, with a total controlling interest of 51% in the company, this is “not happening”.
“It’s simple.” Michael stated, via the phone call today. “If we want the HOW World Title to reclaim its status as number one, the first step is to treat it that way. As such, that will he the final fall of the main event. The ICON Championship will be decided by the first fall– and I’m about to break the exclusive, per Lee Best himself. While the first fall will decide the ICON Championship, it WILL be possible for ONE MAN to walk out… with both belts.”
More news is expected about the pay-per-view in the coming days, with a big announcement expected from Lee Best regarding the referees for Rumble At The Rock.
