XFL
Quote from Mikey Unlikely on February 26, 2020, 9:20 amWho's been watching the XFL, I've been following it rather closely and have enjoyed it very much.
I have been rooting for St. Louis Battlehawks due to the fact their head coach was an assistant Bengals coach for about 15 years. (Yes I'm a Bengals fan....)
Digging the game, the presentation, and the action. It's not as good as NFL but it's not supposed to be. Hopefully it lasts, I enjoy more than 4 months of Football.

Quote from deacon on February 26, 2020, 9:46 pmI've watched what games I can catch - weekends are extremely busy in most cases so I only catch parts of games. The overall gameplay has been solid, though you can tell a huge difference in the QB play - it's just not the same. I've watched all the teams at least some - St. Louis looks good (best helmet design of the bunch). I believe Washington should be good as well, though I only watched them last weekend & they were horrible. I like that they explain the plays & what to watch for after the coach calls it - even showing you the routes & such. That's a nice touch. I love that they're trying to innovate.
Some changes I'd consider -
- The slow clock after 2 minutes. Just makes no sense to change the rules in the final 2 minutes. Either play that way throughout and make "shorter games" on the clock (8 minute quarters or whatever) or play it normal & extend the game time (longer quarters).
- Bring in the extra point kick. Analytics have already shown that you're as likely to score from the 5 yard line as the 2 yard line, meaning the 1 pt extra isn't being used. I'd do a 1 point kick. 2 point from the 5. Then, 3 points from the 10.
- I'd consider giving the defense a point for interceptions or fumble recoveries during the extra point tries. We've had several during games I've watched, but the chance of returning it 90-100 yards is just not gonna happen.

Quote from Mikey Unlikely on February 27, 2020, 11:12 amI definitely agree on the QB play, It's been hit or miss but it seems the Mobile QBs have much more success. Jordan Tua'mu, PJ Walker, and Cardale Jones are the top QBs and mostly because they have legs as well. Although cheering on STL has me really liking the QB, he's got very good touch on his passes.
The rules are fun, I like that they are mixing it up. I agree they should drop the 1pt play but disagree about the kick. The XP kick is one of the more boring plays in football. keep it out. lol
The kickoff is fantastic. The competition is getting better. Players who previously weren't interested suddenly are. I'm really hoping it keeps going.

Houston Oilers.....I mean Roughnecks undefeated BAY-BAY!!!!
I love the kickoff rules and I'm sure the NFL will steal it.
QB play has been hit or miss.
However, I've just been entertained by everything.
I watch every week if I can.
