Last night on a special live edition of Missouri Valley Wrestling’s Wrestling Night in the Heartland from the Joseph Gentile Center in Chicago, Illinois, Ray McAvay confirmed that he’d wrestled his final HOW match.

Ray points at several members of McAvay’s Les Miserables, who also flew out to Tokyo for War Games, who stand up in one of the floor sections and wave at McAvay and the group.
The music turns down. Ray raises his right hand.
Ray McAvay: Thank you. Thanks everyone.
The crowd noise lowers.
Ray McAvay: Thanks to Joe Bergman, I spent ten days in Tokyo walking up Mount Yamato Katsuragi on the Kujira Waterfall Trail twice a day. I trained at Yamamoto Tanaka’s dojo with Joe Bergman and he cracked the whip on me like he’s never did with anyone else before. I lifted weights in the weight room for the first time in fifteen years. Why? Because no matter what happened last Sunday… no matter who ended up being the final survivor… no matter whether Grapplers Local 214 won or lost… there’s no way in hell I was going to be the weak link of the team. I was not going to be the reason that Grapplers Local 214 failed.
Ray pauses for a second.
Ray McAvay: No. We didn’t win. But we sure put up one hell of a fight. Teddy Palmer and Conor Fuse both had the night of their wrestling careers and both men could have won the match. Teddy retained the LSD in a war over Clay Byrd. Conor and Dan Ryan won the HOW Tag title. But we didn’t win the War Games match in the end so congratulations goes out to Sutler Reynolds-Kael for the biggest win on the biggest night of his young career.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ray McAvay: Congratulations to the Best Alliance on the win.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
McAvay smiles and shrugs.
Ray McAvay: And congratulations to John Sektor who I know is here with us tonight.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The spotlight shines on Sektor. He rises and acknowledges the fan’s response.
Ray McAvay: I just want to say John, yes, I did say a few harsh things about you before War Games. But, I will admit that you wrestled a hell of a match last weekend to finish fourth. Not quite the masterclass you delivered in 2019, but just the same, congratulations again and thanks for joining us tonight.
More boos. Some respectful cheers.
Ray McAvay: But most of all I want to thank Lindsay Troy for asking me to join the team. Conor Fuse, Teddy Palmer, Zeb Martin. Dan Ryan, Darin Zion, Xander Azula, and Arthur Pleasant. You all took me in and it was a pleasure being your teammate for a few weeks and doing battle side by side with you all last weekend.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ray McAvay: So now that I’m done with that, I’m back to my cushy day job and we’re going to work our asses off to bring our fans the best wrestling show possible.
McAvay waves one last time.
Ray McAvay: Thanks again everyone!
As noted, John Sektor did make an appearance on Wrestling Night in the Heartland last night as did Scott Stevens who was there to support his wife Lisa Barbosa-Stevens. Darin Zion also appeared and was attacked late in the show by an unknown man who wants to, and we quote, ‘erase‘ him. More to come on that we’re sure.
